The Challenge of Traditional Double-Sided Coating

Historically, achieving a double-sided conformal coating meant one of two things: either investing in an extraordinarily long production line with two separate coating machines and two massive curing ovens, or relying on labor-intensive manual flipping between batches. The first option consumes valuable factory real estate and doubles capital expenditure, while the second introduces human error, contamination risks, and breaks the continuous flow required for modern MES (Manufacturing Execution System) tracking.

  • Zero Manual Handling: Eliminates operator touch-points with fully automated lifting and 180° flipping mechanisms, drastically reducing defect rates caused by ESD or contamination.

Intelligent Automated Workflow in Detail

The efficiency of this system relies on the seamless integration of our core coating equipment and smart peripherals. Here is how the automated double-sided process flows:

Side A Processing:
The cycle begins with a Magazine Loader automatically feeding the boards onto the Transportband.
After Barcode Scanning logs the entry into the MES, the board enters the Three-Axial Coating Machine (or Four-Axial for complex 3D components).
Using high-precision applicators like the Filmspuitventiel, the first side is coated.
It then travels through an inline UV-uithardende oven or IR droogoven.
Upon exiting, an Lift lowers the board to the bottom return conveyor.

Side B Processing:
The bottom conveyor routes the board back to the start of the line.
Here, a PCB Flipper smoothly rotates the board 180°.
The barcode is scanned again to confirm Side B orientation. The board passes through the coating machine and curing oven for the second time.
Finally, the completed dual-sided board is safely stacked by the Losinstallatie.
